Artist Statement
· Susan is a mosaicist whose work is inspired by the nature. Susan’s love of nature stems from growing up on a dairy farm in the Midwest where she spent hours exploring the local woodland and ponds
· Susan chooses designs that mimic what she observes. Trees, fish and insects are her favorite subjects. She creates large and small pieces for walls or windows, in addition to whimsical pieces for children’s rooms.

I’m back home.
I see the old swing hanging from my favorite tree.
Is it sad?
Does it miss me?
I sit on the swing.
It feels small.
I slowly move back and forth.
I feel the gentle breeze on my face.
I smell the grass.
I am at peace.
I feel warm inside.
I love this place.
This is home.
